How old should my child be at his/her first appointment with the dentist?

It is recommended that parents take a first appointment with a paediatric dentist for their child when the child is between 2 and 3 years old.  The more frequent is a child’s contact with the dentist, the healthier its attitude towards dental care will grow to be.

Do not wait for problems to appear to fix an appointment! Children feel more confident when used to regular visits. Moreover, regular visits to the dentist enable the early detection and resolution of problems.  In two words, prevention is better than cure!
